About Global Horizons Inc. (GHI)
Dr. Klem was born in Brooklyn New York, where he married Barbara. Dr. Klem and his wife served in Africa for 20 years teaching in colleges and Seminaries in Nigeria and Kenya. Dr. Klem then taught Missiology at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul with his good friend Dr. Ralph Hammond. Drs. Hammond and Klem together taught many courses on intercultural relationships and reconciliation. They were often called the Minnesota Twins by close friends. Together, Drs. Hammond and Klem formed Global Horizons Incorporated to further equip emerging leaders for ministry around the world and to further reconciliation between cultures.

Paul Arneson, Associate Director
Paul Arneson is a consultant, trainer and Christian leadership coach who
specializes in international ministry and leader development. Serving as an
influence among a network of cross cultural workers and local leaders in
over 20 countries, he helps build and support effective, wholistic ministry
by developing skills among those who lead. He is a married father of two, a
former pastor, and is the director of Emmaus Associates, a ministry of
Global Horizons, Inc. based in St. Paul, MN.
Makiko Slettehaugh, Development Officer

Makiko was born in Japan and raised in South America as a missionary kid. After obtaining a Masters degree in Agronomy from a Japanese University, she went to Rome to work for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). During the 5 years with FAO, she worked on projects training extension officers and farmers in Zimbabwe, Ghana, Kenya, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and other countries in the two continents. She has a certificate in Theological Studies from Bethel Seminary.
Kristy White, Program Officer

Kristy was born in Nigeria the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Klem and served in many ministries with her family and on her own through college. In 1992 she graduated with a degree in Community Health from Bethel College and then served in the Peace Corps in Yemen. Kristy has ministry experience in the US Virgin Islands, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Uganda and Yemen. Currently Kristy has the support of her family in this new ministry role from her husband Scott and her daughters Madelynn, Sophie and Aniah.
Becky Klem, Accounts Officer

Becky has worked for the past several years in a variety of banking positions and has joined the GHI staff working part-time on account management and processing. She graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology from Bethel University and an Initial Teaching Licensure from the University of MN in Elementary Education. Becky and Daan (Herb and Barbara's second-born son) have been involved in a variety of local and overseas mission experiences. They have one son who loves to try cuisine from all over the world and they all enjoy traveling when they are able.
Dilini Williams, Administrative Assistant

Dilini was born is Sri Lanka and came to the US to complete her Bachelors in Business Administration. After three years of working as a US customs broker, she moved on to work with a faith based drugs and alcohol treatment program facilitating chronic addicts. Currently she is a part time student completing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Jennie Ford: Design Officer

Jennie graduated from Bethel University with a B.A. in Integrated Marketing and Design. Through inspiration from our Creator, she handles GHI's marketing communication pieces. She has a passion for art, design, and traveling. Jennie has been on multiple short term mission trips and has taken Dr. Klem's Mission in the 21st Century course at Bethel.
Chad Erickson: Onlining Governance

Chad holds a Bachelors in Christian Studies, retains MN ministry licensure, and is a former member of the University of Minnesota's Council of Religious Advisors. In 2007, he founded Intentionel Relations Corporation—a nonprofit strategizing betterment initiatives for youth and marriages. Chad and his wife Julie founded Musik Start Studios in 2003, and as a family, e6 (The Erickson Six) operates Trinity House Family Daycare and Intentionel.
